Stella Atrois

 Type: Pale Lager
 Price: About $9 for 6 11.2oz Bottles
 Alcohol: 5%
Flavor: 1.5 out of 5 Stars

I look for two things in an alcoholic beverage; great taste and a mellow buzz. I'm not interested in the "privilege" of paying for an over-priced beverage or something that requires that I develop a taste for it.  The drinks that get high-marks with me simply taste good and are enjoyable.

What even got this on my radar was a commercial in 2016 that in my mind somehow suggested that this was a sparkling wine. Nope, it is a beer, a weak beer at that.

Smirnoff Ice Screwdriver

 Type: Malt
 Price: About $8 for 6 12oz Bottles
 Alcohol: 5%
Flavor: 4.5 out of 5 Stars

I am not certain why Smirnoff Ice gets a bad wrap. The standard Ice is almost too acidic for my tastes, but the Screwdriver version cuts this back nicely.

Redd's Strawberry Ale

 Type: Ale
 Price: About $8 for 6 12oz Bottles
 Alcohol: 5%
Flavor: 3.5 out of 5 Stars

It almost tastes like beer, which in my book is not a good thing. There is a hint of strawberry and it is more sweet than bitter. Just kind of mediocre.

Enchanted Manor Meadery Queen Mother's Mead

 Type: Mead
 Price: About $21 for 1 750ml Bottle
 Alcohol: 10.5%
Flavor: 5 out of 5 Stars

I discovered Enchanted Manor Meadery while visiting the Texas Renaissance Festival, where they were offering samples of their meads. The Queen Mother's Mead is crafted from Texas Wildflower Honey. It was described as a variant of one of their stronger, more bitter meads infused with a sweeter tasting mead. The consistency is not too thick, like some meads, and while sweet not overly so. I like mead, and this is easily the best I have had thus far.

Cayman Jack Margarita

 Type: Ale
Price: About $9 for 6 11.2 oz. Bottles
 Alcohol: 5%
Flavor: 5 out of 5 Stars

I give the Cayman Jack Margarita high marks. This is a great tasting drink that, despite having a low-alcohol content, still give a minimal buzz. You can definitely taste the margarita; Blue Agave nectar and lime will make you want to pour this into a glass with a salted rim.

Mike's Hard Lemonade

 Type: Beer
Price: About $9 for 6 11.2 oz. Bottles
 Alcohol: 5%
Flavor: 4.5 out of 5 Stars

Mike's Hard Lemonade is great! It has a real sweet lemonade flavor, no after taste, and despite only 5% alcohol you will feel the effects.  The only complaint I have about Mike's is the size of the bottle.  In a world where all its competitors come in at 12 oz, Mike's is going to come up short at 11.2?

Henry's hard Orange Soda

 Type: Soda
Price: About $10 for 6 12 oz. Bottles
 Alcohol: 4.2%
Flavor: 2.5 out of 5 Stars

So, seeing this in the store, I imagined it was going to be amazing, like Sunkist soda with alcohol.  For all it's bright orange glory, the flavor is not nearly as orange as you might think.  It is not terrible, far from it, but also not great.  Kind of a "meh" flavor.  The drink is a little tart, akin to the flavor of vitamin C pills my dad used to make me eat when I was a kid.  At only 4.2% alcohol, it also doesn't have much in the 'buzz' department.
